I think your best bet is to get a correct price is to call a dealer and ask them.

Call another dealer. At least you can find out if they are all gouging.

Don't know for a full key copy w/ microchip, but the local dealer cut me a key to only open the doors (I locked my keys in the car) for free!

I hear you guys. Unfortunately if you want a copy that allows you to start the car, you need to pay for the chip. Keys with chips normally run well over $100. It's the price you pay for additional security.

When I purchased my G35, it had 2 sets of keys with 1 valet key, but they lost the valet key while they were preping the car for delivery. I went back the next day as the salesman asked me to get a replacement valet key. After they had the car for 2 hours they handed me both sets of keys and the valet, but only one key would start the car. After another hour they gave me the keys again, but this time the valet key did't work. I got so frustrated with the idiots at JBA Infiniti (3 hours of my tme and 40 miles later for nothing), that I left and swore I will never let them touch my car. Still don't have a valet key.

Well I only paid $30 Cdn for key copies for my 04 Pathfinder (with chips).

(BTW, I also bought several remotes online for only $20 each.)

Wow, very good price. Down here even a copy of a Ford key will cost over $100 (I think we pay about $125, programmed for our company vehicles). The tough part is you have to go to a dealer to get the thing programmed.

Knowing the high cost of a new key I had an extra one worked into the purchase of my car.It was an easy thing to negotiate as an extra since the dealer would have some good margin built in.
I've paid big bucks for two other chip keys for other vehicles before and thought I would be prepared with the G.
