I have all new suspension parts and car still has a bumpy ride

Hello, I really need some help. I've recently gotten all new suspension on my 2004 g35 coupe (control arms, sway bars, tein street basic z struts, ball joints) and my car still has a rough ride and a lot of road noise. I just took it to my tire shop and they said all my bushings and everything looks good they don't see anything wrong that I just need to break everything in but my car was feeling the same way before I put the tein struts on which was the last upgrade I did to my g, the control arms and everything else I did months ago and I only brought the tein struts because I thought my stock ones were bad but now I see that wasn't the problem. Does anybody have any idea what can be going on with my car? Before I brought it, it had sat around for a couple years and needed some work but I've since put another lower mile motor in it and replaced the trans because It started acting up and changed all the suspension that I know of so I'm really trying to fixer it out. I had the g37 19inch rims on for awhile but I thought that was the problem so I put the 17s back on but still riding the same. I just want a smooth ride in my g please help. Thanks in advance

why did you buy coilovers if you want a factory ride? your old oem setup most likely had a ton of miles = harsh ride, low budget coilovers = bumpy ride

Are your springs aftermarket or possibly cut?

G35 coupe is not a car that handles bumps smoothly. It's a sporty, low car that handles well and has low profile tires.

You may just be in the wrong type of car if a super smooth ride is the priority.

Maybe go test drive another g35 or two at a car lot and see if you feel the same about those cars.

Tein coilovers are not high quality coilovers. Go back up to stock height with stock suspension. Mine handles great and is very good at absorbing bumps.

Without tossing out your Tein coilovers check with where you bought them and ask if there's a softer spring available for them!

I think they're only available with the 504/504 springs, if it's bumpy and harsh then chances are someone took the tein Z springs off and replaced them with something else. My suspension is 448/504 and is VERY comfortable to drive while still being firm.

Road noise is usually just your tires.

I'm calling it a tire issue. When I bought my wheels, the dude had some cheap *** Chinese tires on it and I've never had a worse experience than that. The NVH can sometimes have everything to do with the tires. I changed the tires and it was about 1,000,000x better.

What kind of tires do you have?

is the alignment in spec? When I installed my suspension, if the wheels are off the ground when the bushings and bolts are tightened down then the suspension will not settle and you will ride mostly on the springs, and not allow the shocks to do their job. This happened to me the first time, the car was very bouncy. I put a jack under the control arm at each corner and compressed the suspension to the point that it started to lift the car and then loosened and re-torqued the shock bushing bolts on the bottom, and the control arm bolts.

good luck

Absolutely ^. Final tightening to be done under load. Great point.

Tires would be my suspect as well, I agree with ScragleRock on this one.
