I always had a working cruise control until last night.
Anyways I can still turn it on... the light comes on the dash. It does not set. I tried pulling the brake forward... the clutch forward. It did not help.
Before I go out replacing the clutch "switch" or the steering wheel button....
Is there a way I can trouble shoot this ??

Just to verify, is it just the SET light not working or is the entire cruise system disabled. It's common for the combination meter SET light to stop working but the system is still perfectly functional, mine is intermittent based on ambient temperature...
If the system is just not working at all I would spray some electrical contact cleaner into the clutch switch and definitely start the troubleshooting at that switch.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the little rubber bumper that actuates the cruise control switch on the brake pedal arm had deteriorated and crumbled. If this is your problem, you will see some pieces of it around the carpet area near your feet. I replaced it and no more problems, hope this information is helpful.
