Bad ECU on my 2004 G35 coupe
So I bought a used 2004 G35 coupe with 134k from a private seller back in November. When I bought it, I ran the codes and nothing came on. About two or less weeks later the car started wiggling and losing power while on the freeway. The check engine light came on and I started smelling something so I pulled over. The car then wouldn't start up again. Anyhow, I took it in to a local shop and they said it had a bad ECU which caused the Ignition coils to burn out. A few weeks later the place said they got a used ECU, replaced the spark plugs, and ignition coils. It cost me $1700. Drove the car home, washed it the next morning, was on my way to pick up my kid and bam, same thing happens again. I had the shop tow my car back there. I just got the car back yesterday, drove it about 40 or so miles, and this morning it happened again. As you could imagine, I'm pretty devastated. I really like how the car looks. It's got a real clean aesthetic to it. Unfortunately this situation has made my Infinity experience a dreadful one. Can anyone tell me what you think of the situation or if them replacing it with a used ECU is the problem. I want to keep the car, but with this continuing to happen I'm almost reluctant to. Please help and let me know what your thoughts are. Thank you!
I've never heard of a problem like that before. Exactly what code is it throwing. It might be worth towing to the dealership for a REAL diagnostic. You don't know what sort of trickery that shop may have pulled on you.
