Yeah it's basically the same temperature as the coolant going through the heater core. That temp reading was FRESH AIR on a 35 degree F day I think. It's even hotter on recirculated air.

Yep, I was tricking the system though. Cold day driving with the windows down so the inside ambient sensor would put the system into max heat. Temp turned to 90F with fan on max, as your cabin temp rises the vent temp cuts down drastically. To test these in the summer I use a can of compressed air to cool the cabin ambient temp to freezing.

isn't the ambient temp sensor only used for climate control? That's the one plug I forgot to connect when swapping dases, which you help me solve, thanks

Yeah I think it's only purpose is to send data to the AC controller which uses it to trim actual temp against the set temp.

Instrument driver lower panel. It'd be about where your right knee is while sitting in the driver seat. Behind that panel

There's a few little slots about the size of a quarter and the sensor is directly behind it.

I'm confused how you were tricking the system. I see how you test it with compressed air. Will the climate control set to 90 on a cold day blow warmer than set to 90 manually on max?

I was tricking the system because I had the windows rolled all the way down while driving and the cabin temp was almost freezing. If your cabin temp is 60 degrees or so it cuts back a considerable amount of heat from the vents, not exactly sure why the controller behaves this way, perhaps to prevent temporarily overheating the cabin and give some allowance for people opening doors and such.

Basically it was working the way it's supposed to, I was just keeping the ambient sensor REALLY cold instead of letting it gradually heat up.
