G35 Test Pipe Rattle
G35 Test Pipe Rattle
Hi, I have an 03 G35 with a Godspeed catback and Megan Racing Test Pipes. I put these in and the idle sounded good, no rattle no nothing. Low RPMS sound nice. But once I get into higher rpms this horrible rattle comes out as if I’m driving a straight piped civic. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do to fix this problem. Thank you.
Sounds like rasp to me. VQ's like to rasp up high, I get a little bit with FI resonated HFC and a Tanabe catback. Test pipes and a straight-design exhaust like a Godspeed is most definitely going to rasp. You could try a resonated Magnaflow x-pipe to replace the one built into the exhaust, or swap to resonated HFC/test pipes.
I have the same HKS replica exhaust and fixed my problem with a magnaflow resonated x pipe 11386. I'm on stock cats though so my car will be quieter... but I credit the x pipe to how nice my exhaust sounds.
