Looking for your opinions on exhausts
I’ve had my 05 coupe for almost a year now and i’m finally starting to mod. first thing i’m gonna do is an exhaust. obviously i want something like the hks hi power or and stillen but that’s a little out of my price range. i was looking at the magnaflow ones and they’re alright but they’re not true dual exhausts. what exhaust should i get that sounds good and is good on price? without being a 200 ebay exhaust
You don't need a true dual, most people don't understand WHY you use some type of crossover like an x-pipe or convergence resonator to bring the two streams of airflow together. The exhaust isn't a solid stream it's a series of rapid pulses, by bringing the two opposing pulse flows together you drastically reduce unwanted frequencies and it doesn't affect performance WHATSOEVER. A good system for the G is going to cost you, look around for used systems, personally I prefer the Fast Intentions setup but I'm also limited in my options because mine is RAS equipped.
The HKS knockoff is a good design and can be made even better with a little bit of work. It's cheap too so you should look into that since you don't have to worry about RAS clearance because it wasn't an option in 2005.
i have about 1 thousand to spend. if it’s realllly worth it i’ll wait till my next paycheck and save to buy a super expensive one. but i don’t think that’s necessary. so with a thousand, what would be the best idea?

Hands down a used Motordyne TDX2 Shockwave. Nothing else compares in that price range, but then again I'm a huge MD fanboy. I think I have a man crush on Tony lolololol. Fitment is spot on, it sounds amazing and has been dyno proven to make decent power gains.

You can find the used TDX2's for $700-900 if you keep looking. hayden each exhaust has it's own distinct sound and I wouldn't just buy any brand if I were looking. Pore through YouTube videos to listen to different systems to see what sounds good to you but keep in mind the videos usually don't really capture exactly how they sound in person. At least it's a starting point, your best bet would be to find people in your area with different systems for you to hear in person but sometimes that's hard to find them.
if you want a temporary nice sounding exhaust, the HKS replicas are a good option. Installed mine not too long ago. Fitment was pretty bad but a muffler shop will take care of that fairly easily. Sounds great.
