Mirror Cap g35 coupe 2004
Have a black mirror and the bracket broke. Only can find a blue mirror in my area. Want to change the blue with my black cover but can't figure how.
Any help would be appreciated

It's not a cover, it's the whole outer shell. Have you checked eBay for a black one? Your last option if you simply can't find one used would be to take the blue one to a body shop and have it repainted.
Edit: I just searched on eBay and they have tons of options for both passenger side and driver's side. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...black&_sacat=0

You can pull apart both pieces. I'm about to do this pretty soon, just havent gotten around to it yet. The plastic plug won't fit through the hole so you'll have to pull each wire out of the plug.
Here is the thread that I first saw it.

You have to buy the whole mirror. You can get it online for $150 or so. If the only part that is broken from your original mirror is the black plastic base(not the painted shell of the mirror or the actual mirror glass itself), you can remove the plastic base off of the new mirror you buy(held on by 3 screws to the base), pull the pins out of the wiring harness and feed the wires back out through the new plastic shell, and then mount your old mirror onto the new plastic mounting piece and reinstall. I had to do that about 2 years ago when some ***** broke my sideview off in a parket lot at Fenway Park.
Let me know if you need more details on how to do the install. It's not that hard really.
