Exclamation Under dash electrical, Need Help!

Hey guys, I need some serious g35 owners help. While driving my 04 coupe major smoke came up the dashboard and melted plastic started dripping on my feet. After some dissection I have found that "some" electrical component must have shorted and destroyed itself along with the two wires attached. I now need to know what the hell that piece was in order to replace it. It sits directly above the vds/abs/tcs computer (i'm pretty sure thats what that is) near the steering column and has a very thick red (something like 8gauge or higher) wire connected to it along with the remains of a wire that is whiteish with grey or silver horizontal marks on it. If anyone could tell me what that was it would be a life saver because the thing totally combusted and is no longer there at all so I can't replace it if I can't find out what it is! Serious appreciation to anyone that could help!
P.S. i know that it is not an aftermarket piece because i have traced the white wires back down into the main harness connector (Yo2?) also, i cant find what im looking for even in the fsm. Possibly becsause i don't actually know what i'm looking for

I can almost guarantee it IS aftermarket, all OEM wiring applications have fusible protection so they literally CANT catch on fire like that. Got any pictures, those would help.

Wondering if it's some kind of remote starter or security bypass module? That SHOULD not happen in a stock car like cleric says. Just because it connects to a main wiring harness doesn't mean it wasn't spliced in. Some hack probably did a crappy install of something or a DIYer who was inexperienced.

You purchased a used vehicle and failed to have a thorough inspection by an Infiniti dealer to run the VIN number and provide a service history?

Sell it or return it to the seller as not road worthy.
