Did I Just Buy The Wrong Brakes And Rotors??
I just bought 4 brakes and rotors off amazon for my 2004 G35. I accidentally put in 2006 in the fitment section. However i have a 2004. I was pretty confident there was no difference when I went back and put in 2004 Infinity G35 and got the words, "IT DOES NOT FIT." Now I'm paranoid. Is there a difference?! Shouldn't something that fits the 2006 also fit the 2004 or did they change the specs on the brakes between the years?
This is what I bought. I know it's a lower quality brand that uses oil in the machining process vs dry machining from the greats like brembo, but I've been using these cheaper brands for 7 years now on my other daily drivers and they do just fine. More bite and less fading than OEM stuff for spirited driving. and I don't track the G like I do my corvette so it's not worth spending thousands on a brake setup that will never be put through it's paces. They are cheap enough to just toss the rotors after two pad changes. But fitment??? Did I mess up?

Adding on to what Cleric said, G's before 2005 had either smaller brakes or Brembo's; IIRC the only way to get Brembos was to have a manual car with the sport package.
For 2005 they swapped to ALL cars having beefier brakes (seriously check out a G's front caliper vs a random car on the road, it's bigger than some SUV calipers I've seen), but also dropped the Brembo's (people didn't like how pricey rotors were.

2003-2004 non brembo outer diameter = 296mm
2003-2004 brembo outer diameter = 324mm
2005+ outer diameter = 318mm
There was also a variation in thicknesses but the outer diameter is the easiest to check.

05+ had 320mm rotors and 2 piston calipers in the front.
03-04 base (and 05 AWD) brakes were single piston front calipers, and some little baby rotors.
06 pads & rotors won't fit an 04, unless you swap out the calipers also (which is a common upgrade).

It may also be worth finding 05-06 calipers and fitting the rotors you got, as the 05-06 brakes are a lot better than 03-04 non brembo. They can usually be found for cheap and will bolt right up.
