Angry What would you value my 07 6MT?

Please help me determine the value of this car in your eyes.
I took my car in to install new brakes and rotor and consequently rear calipers.
The shop owner had a mishap and dropped a garage door on the car.
He dropped it off at a body shop to repair damages.
The body shop was returning the vehicle and got into an accident.
The driver has a suspended license and has no business insurance.
The damages are estimated near 20k to repair.
What is the value before the damage?
Obsidian ex, wheat int., no bose or nav, 07 G35 6MT sport tuned suspenison, 75k miles, new brakes and rotors, new windshield, nearly new summer tires, very good winter tires, 7 year old? cold air intake Nismo Z tube, 3 year old clutch and flywheel, 1 year old Kinetix racing HFCs, 1 year old MotorDyne shockwave tdx2, no prior reported accidents, no smoking, clean interior, no prior damage to exterior

Wow this is really horrible and unfortunate, really sorry this happened. Curious to know what do you plan on doing next? Lawyer? I assume they’re trying to purchase the car from you? 6mt 75k miles, wouldn’t take less than 10k.

The original shop has applied his business insurance to this assignment. I've heard all around that these insurance companies low-ball people. I am getting legal advice from a family friend but he hasn't done insurance work in many years. These cars sell fast and they don't realize that by going to KBB. The insurance company may take up to 48 hrs to value my car right now. I'm not sure where or how I can fight in the legal system when also considering I signed a work order that had fine print on the bottom.

"You will not be held responsible for loss or damage to vehicle or articles left in vehicle in case of fire, accident or any other cause beyond your control."
Okay, if the car is damaged to 20k...shouldn't this shop pay it?
Arg! this is so frustrating.

I will most likely get a low ball check and use it to buy another used car. Unless I go to court for some more.
I guess I wouldn't mind another G35/G37 or 370z.

Anyone experience this type of madness?

Tell them you're a member of a local auto enthusiast community, and if they don't make it right you're going to take your cars value back from their business by means of telling everyone you know what happened and destroying their online presence.

If they give you some KBB says your car is worth this blah blah bullshit tell them you spent money in now worthless mods and if they still give you crap just tell them theyll be hearing from your lawyer and start walking away.
My guess is they'll be willing to pay a couple extra thousand over whatever lowball insurance gives to protect their livelihoods...

Fine print don't mean squat if he subbed the body work out to someone with no license or insurance. Get a lawyer. Now!

I'm with Pbfoot! Sorry to hear about the terrible luck. In all honesty, a lawyer is a very good idea, the fact that someone was driving your car without a license and being involved in an accident is a major issue, I obviously do not know all the details, but with all that happening I would lawyer up and be getting a lawsuit against both shops. FWIW, you may or may not get all the money you spent on the mods, but you may get full value for the car and compensated for paying for a rental if you have to, and if the lawyer is good he may can get you some of the money reimbursed for the mods depending on what all was damaged. If the guy driving your car was at fault he is going to be in major trouble to include the charge for driving with a suspended license. Insurance companies will try to give you the least amount possible so getting a lawyer in your case is the best approach, DO NOT SETTLE with them, if you once again have a good lawyer he can get total payout for that shops policy and maybe have the shop pay for the cost of your lawyers fees as well. Best of luck!

Perfect suggestion! The body shop is responsible for their employee and there insurance should cover whatever you decide your once very cool coupe is worth! I wouldn't accept anything less than $10 to $15K!
Good Luck!
Gary

For what it's worth, If you have no need for the exhaust system, you have a potential buyer right here. Probably not the best time to put that out there, but I do sincerely wish you the best on your situation and that you get fair value. I know I would be livid.
