06 Coupe AT - what did I buy?

Hello, Thanks for having me. Finally fulfilled a (late) dream of owning one of these fantastic cars. Stats as follows:

2006 Coupe AT, 130k, white exterior, tan interior, very clean inside and out
The car was sold to me from a Toyota Dealership as a "clean base model G35".

It has the following: Dual climate, sunroof, intelligent key, power/opener rearview mirror, aluminum pedals, 19" wheels, rear spoiler.

It does not have the front lip... It does not have Navigation.

From my research this tells me that I have the Premium Pkg A and B. Some sources also say I have the Sport Pkg, but I don't understand why I don't have the front lip...

What else can I look for to determine for sure if it has the Sport Pkg? Also, how can I determine if it has Active Rear Steering?

Anything else I should be looking for?

Does it have the factory BOSE system? There will be a BOSE sticker over the speaker coverscon the back dash I think.

Sounds like you have a premium with the sport package, or someone put the sport 19" wheels on it.

RAS is easy, turn the key to ON (engine not running) and during the lamp check you will have a RAS light turn on in the dash. You can also look between the rear differential and the muffler, there will he a thing that looks like a power steering rack&pinion.

Sunroof + dual climate control means it's definitely not a base model.

Sounds like you the same car as mine except mine is in Liquid Platinum. The NAV was an extra 1200 bucks to add-on if I remember right, I bought my car brand new in 06.

Do you have the service history for your car?

Now, get ready for things to start breaking/needing replacing, lol.

Oh yea they're not really aluminum pedals either...I found that out when mine fell off, lol. It's a piece of rubber with some sheet metal on it! lol.

Check your steering wheel too does it have orange stitching?

The thread that holds it together is orange but its barely noticeable. Is that what you mean?

Orange stitching might mean RAS but I don't know that it was ever confirmed. I thought it was just a subtle change for 2006/2007 coupes. My RAS equipped coupe does have the orange stitched steering wheel.

I believe the orange stitching came with the performance/sport package only.

If you do have RAS and it starts acting up it's most likely the motor that's shot. You can get one from an M35/45 RAS unit and it's a 10 minute replacement. Mine started getting flaky and then eventually stopped working all together. I couldn't source the same part number though, so I took a gamble and ordered an entire used unit from an M35/45 off eBay and then just swapped the motor out. Everything went back to normal.

The 06-07 coupes with the sport package have a slightly different bumper than the non-sports. It has a pseudo spoiler built in, a subtle but nice change from the stock.

Orange stitching and the "aluminum" pedals means sports package, its not related to RAS. If your bumper doesn't look like the one in the above post than its possible its not the original one.

Confirmed, no RAS. Also, confirmed that I DO have the Sports Pkg. I guess the only question left unanswered is how do I tell if I have LSD rear?

Jack up the rear, the differential is the jack point. Have someone hold one tire or block/wedge it so it won't turn. Go to the other tire and try to spin it, if there's a lot of resistance you have the VLSD, If it spins freely you have an open differential.

Hmm I thought I had replied here but I guess not. OP you can call a NIssan/Infiniti dealer, give them the VIN of the car and they can tell you exactly what options your car has. Or you can just search Google for a VIN lookup site and do it that way as well.

To see if you have a LSD jack up the rear with both wheels off the ground and in neutral, spin one wheel, if both turn in the same direction it is a LSD if the other wheel spins in the opposite direction it is an open differential.
