Bought an 05 G35 5AT today!

After dealing with two different dealers for about 3 hours, I got the price I was looking for. I ended up with a Diamond Graphite/dark graphite 05 5AT with premium interior package, trunk mat, painted spash guards, and XM radio. I paid $34390.50 for the car (includes dealer fees), which ended up being only 1100 over invoice. I'm picking up the car on Wednesday/Thursday of this week, I cant wait!

Oh, and before I forget to mention. I am a converted Mustang owner. I owned two 94-98 Mustangs, and then put down an order for an 05 Mustang GT back in November. After 3 months of waiting, I gave up being my dealer was being an a-hole, so i went to the Infiniti dealership and fell in love with the refined look and feel of the G35 coupe. After that first test drive, I was hooked, so I cancelled my order for the Mustang and never looked back!

On a side note, what is the deal with the XM radio? Do you get any free months to try it out before subscribing?

Congrats with your new G! Now, the first thing you need to do is start working on your MM. Once you get that down, it'll bring a bigger smile to your face!

Not sure on the XM though. I think that they have just a couple of "sample" channels to listen to before you have to subscribe. But I will tell you this, once you do satellite radio, you'll never go back. I've had XM for a year and a half, and I cannot get enough! Once again, start practicing with the MM as soon as you can!

I was dead set on the 6-speed (always been a manual 5-speed driver) when I first decided on the G, but then about a week ago I decided to test drive the 5AT, and it was great. You get the best of both worlds, fun of shifting and extreme laziness! The smoothness of the regular shifting and the crispness of the MM really did it for me.

As far as the XM goes, I think you have to call your dealer, or ask them when you are there for the free infiniti trial code. That's what I had to do. Then call xm and give them the code and tell them you want to use the trial period. I ended up not using it. It wasn't that great imo. But, I'll probably start using it later this year when they have a few more stations that I like. Not enough punk stations for my taste. Yeaht thats right. I hate hiphop! jk, it makes my system sound neat.

ya you get like a 2 or 3 month free subscription to XM radio. i didn't really want it, but the only model they could find that fit my specs in the US had it, but for some reason right now i can only get channel 000, 001 and 247. i called my dealer today and they're trying to figure out what's up. i doubt i will use it, but it would be nice to try it out. i'll let you know how it is when i get it to work. if you do decide you want XM, it's $125 for activation and $9.99 a month. so start saving up some money.

As someone who is debating on whether or not to get a MT or an AT, I'd really like to know more about manual shift mode. Could someone please explain it to me? Exactly how does it work? Does it work the same as the 350Z and Maxima MM? No, I don't know how to drive a MT.

Thanks.

That is what I paid as far as over invoice pricing. I told them I wanted 1100 over invoice with no dealer fees, and they said "Dealer fees are manditory", so I said "Well, then give me 700 over invoice" and they did.
