sweet car! gratz!
I just bought an 05 6mt prem, sport, dmd grap/dmd grap - gotta wait until sunday for it to be delivered - so I'm about to **** my pants with anticipation!
Regarding your comment about the Mustang -- my wife and I looked at the Stang at a recent car show. We liked the exterior, but I was sorely disappointed with the interior. It smacked of cheapness and low quality -- just take a look at the door panels next time you're inside one -- cheap plastic and terrible aesthetics!
Of course, sitting in the G doesn't help with comparisons against the Stang...the G is obviously a premium sports car whereas the Stang is obviously a mobile slated for the high school crowd's mass consumption --

Its funny, I posted the details about my purchase on the 05 Mustang board I was a part of (Since I ordered one and ended up cancelling it, so I figured they might enjoy knowing what happened to me), and I have never heard so many people bitch in all my life. They are completely obsessed with their cars, but in a negative way. A real car guy might love his car, but he respects other cars and knows the good qualities of them. They just sit there and preach about how the 05 mustang is the greatest car ever created by man or machine. Don't get me wrong, it is a great car, but they seriously need a reality check.
My situation was that I was always a Mustang guy. I enjoy all types of nice cars, but I figured I would end up in a Mustang for a while until I was more settled in my finances. So basically, when I had the cash saved up, I ordered an 05 Mustang GT from the local dealership (in November). I never even test drove any other type of car, because for the money (26k), the Mustang was a great deal. I patiently waited about 5 weeks with no word at all, so I went to the dealership to see what was up. They told it it was the 7th one on the list, and it should be scheduled to be built in about 2 weeks (meaning delivery would be about 2 more months). I waited two weeks, and asked them what position the car was in the list now, and was told "7th, two more weeks". I was pretty angry at this point, but I still waited. I then got a new job, which made me start thinking about higher class cars. So the next day, I went to the Infiniti dealership and test drove a G35. Instantly, I knew that was the car for me, so I went to the ford dealership and asked them how my car was doing. They said "11th on the list, 2 months to be scheduled, you should have delivery in around August." So I cancelled right there (Which I was going to do anyways, but that really pissed me off), and I started my quest for the G35.
When I posted on the boards about getting the G35, I was attacked, with them repeating "You settled for a G35 coupe, you will kick yourself when you start seeing Mustangs everywhere. You should have waited."
How can you "settle" for a car that costs 10k more? My reasoning for ordering the Mustang was that it was the best car that I could afford at the time. While waiting the three months for my car, the amount I could spend on a car went up, so I did the intelligent thing and opened my mind to different cars. I found a nicer car, and am totally happy with it. I do not regret one bit about not getting the Mustang. Seeing tons of them on the road will only make me feel better, since they only release about 30k G35 coupes here every year, but they make 100k+ Mustangs. Also, once the retro fad ends, those cars will look very strange.
