Very Strange Headlight Problems
Hello, I own a 2006 g35x Sedan that I purchased about 5 months ago. Aside from needing new tires at the time of purchase, it has given me no issues - up until now. I've tried searching the forum for anyone having similar issues with no luck.
I keep my headlight switch set to auto, and lately I have been noticing that during the day my high beams will randomly turn on. They shut off if I flick the switch off and back to auto again. I also notice that it seems to be only when I go under a shady area (i.e. freeway bridge, or covered drive thru). Anyways, it hadn't really bothered me since I could just turn it off and then back on, but the other night when I got in my car to drive home, my high beams came on, but this time they wouldn't shut off.
I shrugged it off and switched it out of auto to the manual light mode or whatever it's called. But to my surprise my low beams are extremely dim and giving off a yellowish light. But they're LED. I mean they are so dim that it barely lights the path in front of me. So I just drove home with my high beams on and have avoided driving it at night since.
So after researching I figured it's some kind of dash sensor, since it seems to be only when it is dark or under a shady area. But that doesn't really explain why my low beams are acting up. Could they just coincidentally be burnt out as well or would the sensor effect them? has anyone ever encountered this problem before? Any suggestions would be appreciated before I take it in to a mechanic for diagnosis.

I had that happen a few days ago after I washed my car. It would flicker onto highbeams with my driver side - I left the car out in the sun and whatever water was causing this dried up. Guess the car needed some vitamin D.
