03 Coupe, 5AT, owned since 2004. Not sure what caused my OBD to be unreadable, but it is a concern. I have an occasional CEL, but she rides fine. No real need to plug in for emissions as car is 15+ years old, but I really am baffled here. Did swap a new battery in, not sure if something got zapped.. please advise!! thanks!!

 

I think I remember someone mentioning there is a fuse for the OBD. It wont get power if the fuse is popped.

 

Get a pin schedule for OBD2 protocol ISO 9141-2 and make sure you have 12v and ground. Don't use a test light, you need a DMM for it.

So.. it was just a fuse, at the battery. Bunch of blind bats around my car lately lol

 

Care to show us which fuse? People might come across the same issue in the future and it’ll help them out.

 

 

10 Amp.. likely the only 10A that's inches from the battery terminal. A tester was better than all of our naked eyes
