Clutch & Flywheel replacement
Clutch & Flywheel replacement
So I just bought a 2003 6MT sedan and it has 165k on the stock clutch and flywheel! I bought it off the original owner and he said he never replaced it. That being said I am definitely going to do a replacement because in just the few day's I've had it I've driven it harder than it probably ever has been.<!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}-->omegle discord xender
I can't decided whether to do an OEM spec or stage 1 clutch, either with a DMF or SMF. I've seen videos (I'll link one on YouTube below) of the chatter caused by SMFs and I'm not sure if I want it to make that much noise. And since I'm daily driving should I bother to do stage 1?

If you want to keep the luxury car feel get a DMFW with the stock clutch friction. A lightweight flywheel will be noisy but is a pretty substantial performance improvement, stage 1 clutch if you plan on doing bolt on stuff like spacer+hfc+exhaust+tune. If you're not going to mod the car just stick with the OEM setup because it quickly loses the luxury car feel and goes straight to sports car.
