I was driving earlier today and my car started getting white smoke coming through the hood, so I pull over and check it out. I checked under the car and the leak is near the middle of the car. I also found that this axle on the drivers side was greasy, but on the passenger side it is clean. Any help? I just want to know whats wrong. Update: I'm pretty sure it is oil, but I still don't know why it was smoking.

 

I also have no exhaust. I only have the cats and Y pipe on the car.

 

Well....what fluid is it leaking? Get in there with a flashlight and see where its coming from.

 

I think it is oil.

Are your valve covers leaking? Did you spill any oil when you last added/ changed oil? That plastic engine cover and gasket around the oil filler cap do not necessarily catch oil when adding, you do need a funnel if pouring from a 5 qt jug.

 

If you're leaking oil, fix it, problem goes away.

I don't know what else to tell you man.
