VDC Problems
VDC Problems
I’m having a problem that my VDC is not turning off, meaning even when I push the button the lights for slip and VDC don’t come one. My car is 03 6MT coupe. And when I turn my headlights on the VDC light comes on? I even pulled the 50a fuse for it and still no lights. The only time a light came on is when I unhooked the Control module for the VDC and only the slip light illuminated. I have no idea what is goin on. I have replaced the switch and I have 12v coming to the switch. I think it is messed up wiring somehow. Or even worse a BCM problem. It’s weird because I also have the A/T check light on even when I have a 6 speed?
You've probably got some hacked wiring that someone was tampering with, do you have the 6MT instrument cluster? I didn't even think there was a cutout for the AT check light on the 6MT cluster, you would have a large gear indicator in the middle that would normally be illuminated with what gear the 5AT was in, I imagine it would display nothing when you were using a 6MT.
If so someone probably did a 6MT swap on an OEM equipped 5AT and screwed up some wiring somewhere.

This is the one I have, I’m guessing swapped it from a A/T coupe because the gear indicator is empty, just lights up

because it is a 6MT from the factory, it says on the tag in the engine bay
Yeah that's definitely the cluster from a 5AT, if your VIN number checks out as being a 6MT then the previous owner must have had the cluster fail and swapped it out with the wrong one.
EDIT: The 2003-2004 6MT cluster doesn't have the LCD screen on the tach.
