Stuck Slip Light and VDC Off
Stuck Slip Light and VDC Off
Have any of you had a little fun with your car (spinning the tires and whatnot) and have the slip light come on but not turn off? I was playing around in an empty parking lot (with VDC off) and afterwards my Slip light and VDC off lights stayed on even when I pushed on the VDC Off button. I had to turn the engine off and back on again to clear the lights. Does anyone know why this is?
I just looked in the owner's manual again. This means there is a malfunction in the system and that the traction control function is canceled. I guess it reset itself when you restarted the car.
Thanks for checking the manual for me kepp. I should have read that to begin with. I can't imagine it would be my brakes, since I only have 2100 miles on my car. I wonder why it does that though.

First time I experience this yesterday in our canyon run. A lot of wheel spin or sliding will cause the VDC and SLIP light to come on. Simple fix is to turn off the engine to reset the system. They said that this was common in the 03 and early 04 models I guess they haven't found a fix for it yet. In fact my system mulfunctioned twice during the run. I found it more fun to drive the car with the VDC off while going through the mountain twisties. I'm thinking of bringing it back to the dealer this weekend just to make sure everything is normal.

Nothing to worry about since it resets on restarting.
