idpm e/r and IVIS issue
im having some issues with the IVIS system that are related to my idpm e/r... i know its related to that because i was having the same problem about a month ago, where my car wont start and the red security light stays solid, but then i wiggled some wires and it went away and the car started up. i disconnected my idpm e/r over the weekend to check connections because i have a p0300 code and cant figure out the cause of it, and when i connected everything back i had the same issue of a crank no start with a solid security light. That makes me think that its not an actual IVIS issue with the key but its something messed up in the wiring. Any electrical gurus out there who can offer some insight?
I don't have a spare key... Also like I said before MY KEY IS NOT THE ISSUE..
If wiggling wires fixed the issue then it sounds like you already found the issue
Tear into those wires a little deeper and look for any nicks/scratches or SOFT SPOTS that might indicate a broken conductor inside the insulation. Also look at the harnesses if they are nearby, unplug and see if there is corrosion in the harness, perhaps a broken pin, just tug on the wires gently and see if a pin pops out.
The solid red light narrows it down a bit, definitely NATS related and there's not a lot of components on that system,

So it's kinda crazy but it was all because of a relay....
