mysterious squeak

I have a very weird noise that sounds exactly like squeaky breaks, however it is dependent on rpms. I have to be engine breaking from 3400 -> 3200 rpm to cause this noise and it happens whether or not I am pushing the brakes. At first I thought it was a dragging brake pad, but then I realized it happened even when I pressed the brakes. Then I thought it might be the cv axles but I realized it happened at 3400 ->3200 no matter what gear I was in. Could a high pitch squeal come from an exhaust leak or maybe even bad transmission bearings? The only thing I've found is if I shake the car around a little the next time I drive it it will be quiet for the first few engine brakes, then it comes right back. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I bet if you get the car up on jackstands and start spinning things by hand manually you're going to find the problem.

Make sure to push/pull on the tires to check your wheel bearings. Also uncork the transmission fill plug and stick your finger in there to see where the gear oil level is at, same with the differential. Have you been leaking any fluid at all? Something might be getting low.

I checked all the suspension and replaced the brakes yesterday because it needed to be done anyways. I will check the trans fluid although I replaced it about 6 months ago and there's no leaks that I can see. As strange as this sounds I'm leaning more and more towards an exhaust leak at my test pipes because of the way that the "squeal" is very inconsistent in pitch and sometimes sounds like a whistle.

The problem was the heat shield bracket on my y pipe had a tiny piece that broke off. It was still held in place by the heat shield and was vibrating at the specific rpms
