steering wheel height adjust noise

When exiting the vehicle and the steering wheel moves to its home position it makes a weird noise. I've sprayed grease and what have you and it still makes an awful noise.
Any solution? Maybe I'm missing the spot that's causing the noise. Any info would be appreciated. Tried attaching a video with sound but it wouldn't upload.

Post the video to youtube and put the link here.

Have you taken off the plastic shroud for the steering column? If not that would be the first suggestions so you can really get into the moving parts better with some silicone spray lubricant.

Here you go. I only removed the cover below the steering wheel I'll remove the lower and post back.

Well that certainly doesn't sound good. It's probably just getting worn out, you can turn entry/exit completely off if you don't need it. That will at least minimize the wear on the steering column motor since it rarely needs adjustment.

If you DO need the entry/exit turned on then you should probably start digging a little deeper into the problem, remove the lifter motor and see what's broken on it.

Thanks I didn't know you could turn it off. But I'll dig into it after my back gets a rest. Spent some time fixing the emergency brake switch. Not a comfortable place to work.

Yeah just put the key in the ignition but leave it in the LOCK position, now hold the SET button on the seat memory controller until it blinks (10 seconds).

You can also do that to turn it off, 1 blink is turned off, 2 blinks is turned on, it switches between the two so first time will be ON, second time will be OFF, rinse/repeat.
