AC cold but not enough
AC cold but not enough
Hey folks. I've owned 3 G35s in my life and my most recent one is acting funky. The AC DOES blow cold air but its just... not as cold as it should be. My other two were absolutely frigid and kicked butt. I tried using one of the AC recharging cans but it did nothing. What could possibly be making it blow caca AC?
First thing I'd do is check the CAF and the condenser. Depending on climate driven, either could be clogged with dust. Condenser should be easy to check, just pop the hood and get peeking, the CAF is one of the more annoying automotive ones to check/change. Can't remember if you need tools aside from a standard philips screwdriver, but Youtube should sort you out.
When you put a can into it, what did the pressure read when finished? If you put in a can and didn't check , it could be overfilled. How to check is if the air con is on, check to see if the AC clutch is engaging and disengaging, that happens when too high a pressure, and the car won't blow very cold then.
Most common thing on AC systems when it's not cold or leaking is the shrader valves. I was checking mine a couple of days ago and I see one is starting to leak on mine. Just get a kit and they are easy to replace.
Otherwise you can try the stain stuck so you can see where it's leaking out.

Put a thermometer in the vent and find out EXACTLY what temp air is blowing out with the system on max with recirculated air (not fresh air).
You can also put the AC controller in diagnostic mode and see the values being sent from things like the sunload sensor. If it fails then the car will think it's in the shade and not be compensating extra pitch on the compressor (it's a variable pitch AC compressor, so basically computer controlled how much refrigerant it actually pumps)
Same thing with the inside ambient temp sensor, if it thinks the cabin is cooler than it actually is it's going to throttle back the pitch on the compressor.
Also, have you tried the AC in both manual and automatic mode? And is your outside ambient temp display reading correctly?
