Stock Performance Comparison Site

This is a pretty cool site that lets you pick two stock vehicles and compare their performance stats. http://www.car-videos.com/performance/index.asp

Enjoy.

In Freshalloy.com, ppl mentioned that the data in this site is not accurate at all. It's a very bad reference site.

Re: Stock Performance Comparison Site

The problem with that site is that they don't test real cars, they instead use computer simulation program to estimate a cars performance based on: weight, HP, torque, gear ratios, coefficient drag, and ambient weather conditions, to give a rough estimate 0-60, ¼ mile, and other miscellaneous performance factors. But it does give you an "idea" of how fast each car is.

The one I use is car-stats.com

I think most of thier info comes from car mags.

Re: Stock Performance Comparison Site

I visited the car-stats.com and happen to see what the slowest car was: a 1964 VW Bug. I could probably out run this thing with my own two feet!

Re: Stock Performance Comparison Site

Yeah, unless that computer simulation maps the entire torque curve from 500rpm through redline and accounts for transmission and final drive gear ratios and tire sizes, it's not going to be extremely accurate.

Re: Stock Performance Comparison Site

Just checked the FX45. It shows 13.7 0-90 and 23.8 0-100. Why 10 seconds to get from 90 to 100 ?? ...dean
