CD009 noise

Hello all, has anyone ever experienced a rotational noise while coasting in gear with the clutch pedal to the floor? I never really paid attention until now. Car has a lightweight flywheel installed, but I only remember the “cement mixer” noise at idle not while coasting in gear with the clutch to the floor. Happens in any gear I can hear it a lot better if I turn the engine off while coasting in gear. I figured it’s just the gearing rotation on the trans; but it’s so loud it’s kind of concerning. Car only has 140k if I coast in neutral no noise only while in gear.

Is it just gear whine you're hearing?

When was the last time you changed gear oil?

Changed the oil today with Royal Purple still the noise is still here I linked a video of me driver over the top of my phone in the drive way it has a incline as soon as I roll back in gear with clutch down I hear it. I feel like its related to either the TOB Pressure Plate or the flywheel. When I rolled back one time I got the clutch to kind of engage almost all the way up and the noise goes away. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ryuj8uk5ti...-8516.mov?dl=0

Whoa that sounds terrifying. I would get that thing up on jackstands, transmission in neutral, spin the tires by hand and I'm pretty sure you'll be able to reproduce this sound from somewhere.

Maybe also remove the transmission propeller driveshaft shaft, baggy/ziptie over the tail end of the transmission so you aren't puking gear oil. Then run the transmission with no driveshaft and see if you can isolate the sound to the transmission.

You can also carefully remove the rubber dust boot on the clutch fork and look up inside the bellhousing with a flashlight (cheapo borescope works better) to see if something is obviously broken inside the bellhousing.

The thing is I just had the rear on jack stands turn it on and put it in all gears no sound at all even in reverse. I lower it back on the ground noise comes back when I roll and cut the car off. I think it’s Throw out bearing or Master Cylinder or slave now because I’ve been getting a weird noise from the Slave and Clutch pedal ever since I changed the slave. I feel like I have air inside the system so it’s not fully releasing the clutch disk when I hold it down in gear. I can make the noise sorta go away if I hold the clutch up a lil and roll back while I’m gear.

Update I just took the rubber boot off the TOB fork and all I can see inside is rust on the Pressure plate. Could this cause the noise im hearing?

Too hard to say, sounds like something is broken though. With the vehicle on 4 jackstands see if you can reproduce the sound, it's easier to pinpoint what location it's coming from.

Just don't crawl around under the car, locate the sound from the side of the car, your traction control will trigger since the front tires won't be moving so you'll need to hit the VDC button off probably.

Got the transmission dropped it appears the noise is coming from all 4 springs on the clutch disk, they all seem loose? When I shake the clutch disk I’m pretty sure it’s not suppose to make any noise. It sucks cause it’s a Exedy Clutch. Do you have any recommendations for a new clutch?

I went with the Z1 Motorsports lightweight flywheel and their clutch.
