Window rattle after locking keys in car
Window rattle after locking keys in car
I locked my keys in my car about a year ago and had AAA come out and use their inflatable bag to pry open my window to hit the unlock button.
Ever since, my window is slightly pushed out away from the body, a bit of air noise is heard and I have a bit of a rattle. Clearly all are annoying.
Has anyone experienced similar and before I go and manhandle it, I wondered if there was a better course of action.
Thanks in advance.

There are bolts that u can turn to adjust the whole window assembly in or out. They probably bent the whole assembly out a bit when they forced it. U can probably get it lined up again by using the adjustments though.
And a tip: Make a spare key for for your car and hide it somewhere under the car so u can use it if u ever lock yourself out.

There is a window tilt adjustment for the coupe, probably just needs to be tightened up a bit.
My usual test is to pinch a dollar bill in the window, you should be able to pull the dollar back out but it should be pinched fairly snug. Test in a couple locations.
If it passes the pinch test they may have loosened the sash/finisher (plastic trim piece above the window that connects to the roof, it's a composite piece not actually metal but it's painted) when they airbagged it out. This is VERY likely since the window actually tucks up UNDER the sash when it's closed, it's physically impossible for them to have airbagged the glass open without dislodging the sash slightly.
