so I bought my headlights over a year ago, about a month ago it started shaking. The driver side, low beam projector started shaking, and I took the curiosity to find out what happened. I took out the driver side Headlight, opened up the cap, and shook the unit and heard rattling. come to find out, two tiny gold screws fell out. So begs the question, do I open up the headlight and try to fix it? or do I just buy completely new ones?

 

Fix it for sure, just seal it back up with some JB weld; no reason to spend money if they are still working. Just my 2 cents

Basically you bake them at low temp in an oven to soften the lens sealant, and then pry the lens off the body. There are multiple threads in the forum that discuss optimum temps. You don't want to go too hot, and too low won't break the seal.

 

Throw some cookies in there too while youre at it.

 

It will make your headlights smell delicious, your cookies might taste like plastic though.
