Spliced wires behind battery

Hello so I keep getting shorts for door light fuse i think mice got into wires because the cabin air filter was full off stuff. But anyway I took the battery out and inspected the harness behind it and was dirty too cleaned it out but still get shorts. There are 3 wires with heat shrink on it is how they came? Two of them are double wires going to a single one matching color and white line the other one is a 3 wire going to one wire all matching also. What’s up with that?

they look secure I don’t see how they would short since it’s all the same wire

Also I was tryna get that Battery base off to check underneath it. Is it worth it to take it off? I tried and they are rounded so I’d have to find a kit to remove them

My bolts are also super rusty. I intend to drill them out and replace the bolts.

As for the wiring, consider unrolling the electrical tape. You may find that those have been badly spiced.

I gave up on trying to remove my battery tray bolts. I just used a small drill bit to drill some holes in the lower part of the tray so water can’t collect.

Those three twisted pair wires look like aftermarket stuff added to the car,

orange, black
yellow, black
brown, black

I'd chase them down and find out what some previous owner added to the car.
