Need Help

My son has a 2006;Infiniti G35 coupe. A few Months ago the Motor developed a Knock ( Wrist pin ) so we decided to replace the motor. We found one from a running G35 ( Who was swapping out to a Rev up and Manual ) we got the Motor in, turns over, but won't start, using the same Fuel rails, injectors, Throttle body from original Motor. New Crank and Cam Sensors. But won't start and shows no codes. Any Idea's of where to start looking ? We have fuel pressure to the rail, and Spark ( It started for a few seconds ,with the Crank sensor disconnected and starter fluid )

Make sure you have the right timing on the timing chain you might have air fuel and spark but if the timing is off it won’t run

we never opened the TIming, but did replace Camshaft sensors. Does the Engine need to be at TDS when replacing them ( One on each side of the V6 ) as well as the one Crankshaft sensor?

Check your connections and grounds. Did you use genuine OEM sensors? Aftermarket sensors are known to not work with these cars.

ok took the car to a Mechanic to replace Rear Main seal. He says it's a ECU problem as this is not mated to the Engine ( Both were VQ35VE ) . Could trying to start or Jump to many times cause the NATS system to lock out? Or is their a Chip in the key ( We only have the one Key from the seller ) that needs reprogrammed now? At our wits end, Mechanic checked all wiring and the install looks professional, just car won't start.Or will we need to have this ECM reflashes or buy new and reprogrammed?

When the NATS starts freaking out, you can get a tune from Uprev / local tuner to disable Nats.

Ok went and checked the NAT sensor light, no solid red light when Cranking, found 1 cam sensor plug with a Crack, but Mechanic says it should not effect the spark ( Question if the Cam sensor on one side bad will it effect the Spark on all Cyl or just on one bank ) . Also relayed to the Mechanic about the Pin possitioner for the Flywheel. We were told that the hole is drilled deeper than the pin itself, so the flywheel , if put in wrong can push the pin in, and throw the timing off, but that should have nothing to do with the Spark issue. It seems weird that what should have been a pull and Plug issue has turned into such a PITA, anyone have any suggestions ? We even went and talked to Nissian, of course they want the car towed there, $300.00 to diagnose ( Same as already done ) $500.00 for a new Key and fob ( More than the Mechanic is charging for rear main seal and helping diagnose ) at our wits end

If the engine isn't reading the cam sensor it won't fire spark, it won't turn on the fuel pump (except for the 1 second when you first turn the key to ON).

If you had the flywheel removed from the engine, and you're not 100% sure you had that dowel pin in the correct position, then I would pull the transmission (much easier than the engine, usually takes me about 45 minutes) and verify.

If the flywheel was already on the engine then it was PROBABLY in the correct position.

You're using the existing cam and crank sensors yes? Or are you using the ones from the newer donor engine?

As for the ECM, you're using the same ECM, BCM, key as what was previously in the car yes?

No we got new OEM Sensors, I do believe it maybe the flywheel, the Machanic that put it on after changing the rear main, is a old Dodge Mechanic and isnt going to check. So tomorrow we will have it towed back home and Jack it up again .

No Nothing, found out the company that did the modification program can test the ECU outside the car ( Benchtest ) Will take it back to factory , delete NATS, try starting in another G, if it starts will reset the Mods. If the ECU is bad , he has them in stock and will program for half the original cost ( Including the New ECU ) . Hopefully this will fix the issue !
