I did a Window relearn (hold down switch for 10 seconds) I went to put the window back up and it wouldn’t move. I’m guessing that the motor broke at that point. I tested the switch and it’s getting power.

The main problem is does the window need to be up when I replace the motor if so how will I get it up?

 

Bang on the inside of the door with your fist in the motor area while holding the switch for the window up position. If the window starts coming up, it's the motor going bad. Also check the window track to make sure the glass is not binding.
