My 2006 Infiniti G 35 sedan ignition switch is stuck. When I insert the key from the key fob, it won’t turn at all. The other day I accidentally washed the key fob with the key inside it. It still worked after that. But today I turned my car in accessory mode to crack my windows 20 minutes later I go to turn the car on to move it and the ignition switch is stuck. I’ve checked the fuses. I’ve reset the battery. I called the locksmith and he said he charged me $95 to make a new key and if that doesn’t work, he’s gonna charge me to replace the cylinder. I don’t know if it’s the car or the key fob. If the chip and the key fob stopped working all of a sudden today, would that lock up the ignition switch?
