Angry Brake and Rotor on G35c

Hi all, probably some ppl having save problem. My brakes keep squeaking and I brought to deal to have them checked out. They said they are fine and its normal. Some ppl on here said samething about those Brembos. Today drove home from work, I couldn't stand it anymore so I checked out and 1 of the fron passenger brake pad is gone, ruining the rotor . The other side is going as well, but not grind the rotor yet. What do you think? Is it on warranty? And if I have to pay to get it fixed, would it be nicer to throw in a pair of cross drill rotors for front and the pad ofcourse? Any suggestion ? Thanx !

not sure if you'll be able to get that covered under warranty. the brembo brake package seems to be a bit of a hassle in that regard. especially if the brakes have worn down as far as they have, without being serviced earlier. in any case, replacing the parts will likely cost you a pretty penny, unfortunately, but hey its definitely a chance to get a brake upgrade!

just take it to your dealer and see what they say, and get a quote. if they say it will not fall under warranty, i would try going to a reputable shop that could probably replace/upgrade your brakes cheaper than the dealer.

How many miles do you have on these pads (when you say gone, how many mm left are we talking.......less than 2 mm?)? How many miles since it was at the dealer's shop before you checked the pads?

Warranty issue is hard to say without more information on your driving habits and mileage on the pads. Also, I'd have a serious talk with the service guys who said the brake pads are fine after they checked them out. If the pads are indeed beyond the acceptable wear thicknesses, then they have to bear some type of responsibility for giving you incorrect advice on the pads not having to be replaced.

They should have infomed me or us about break @ 15k miles as in the maintemance booklet but they forgot to do that on me and I have 34k miles on my car. As I said earlier, the passenger side has nothing left on it, the driver side still about 2 - 3 mm left. I went to my friend uncle's shop and he told me try to go dealer 1st cuz it look like def. brake. It won't release after it applies.

What am I missing you go to dealer ever 90 days [oil changes] while a car is under warranty to optimize your chances of getting warranty services. They love to find things that need fixing.

Only two sources of revenue YOU and Factory.

Having 34k miles on the car, it looks like you had a pretty good run on the pads. Informing you of pads at 15k checkup??? That was 19k miles ago, it is clear in my mind that your pads were still good at that time.

The problem is that your dealer's service guys didn't follow up on checks after the 15k period. In that situation I think that they are lacking, so this is definitely a dealer related issue.

Are you certain the rotor is ruined? Can it be resurfaced or is it so worn down that resurfacing is not possible?

I brought my car to the dealer this morning and they looked at the brakes. The other 3 still good except the bad one. Sound like they knew about these Brembos problem, cuz as soon as I told my service guy the problem he asked me "Am I on Brembos". Anyhow, he did some paper works and told me thats bad side is different then the others so they gonna check it out and see what they can do and it falls under the warranty condition.
