Want to mod, what about warranty?

This may be a newb question, but then again this is my first post...

I want to start mod'ing my 2 month old, 3500 mile, GCoupe, but I'm not sure what mods, if any, keep the warranty in tact.

I can see that most on this forum have some nice mods on their cars, so could someone tell me the the deal on the warranty and what you think?

As an added note, what mods do you guys recommend to get her started?

As far as the warranty, I am not 100% sure, but I am sure a search could get you your answer pretty quickly.

As for first mods, go with the Z TUbe, and JWT Pop Charger.

Most mods can't explicitly void your warranty, but the dealer, if they find a mod caused a failure, can refuse to honor the warranty. Of course, they have to prove that the mod caused the failure (do a search on the Magnusson Moss Warranty Act). Still, it may end up being more of a hassle than it's worth, since you might have to go to court to get restitution on certain things, and that ends up costing more than the repair, in many cases.

keep your oem intake and get a ztube, 3/8' motordyne spacer, and k&n drop in filter. None of these will effect your warranty. If worse comes to worse, just take the stuff off if anything happens with your engine.

Yeah, if you want to keep your warranty.

Don't get a Super charger, or turbo.

Anything more like exhaust, get it done at a dealer or someplace a dealer will not give you a hassle about.

Remember, you paid for a warranty when you bought the car, why void it with a $800 part that could cost you thousands over the years.

Infiniti has told us (7-8 months ago) that TB problems cannot be covered under warranty if there is a TB spacer present. I dont know the story or all the facts, but if infiniti sent out a message about it...there must be somthing going on.

I dont know about these "z" tubes everyone talks about, but even with most intake kits they wont void the warranty as long as it dosent suck up water or some other forein matter and its got an EO#.

Exhaust you can do as long as its got an EO# and you keep the factory o2 sensors and cats.

Wheels and tires your ok except in the case of vibrations. And they must be same physical outside dementions as stock because that has the potential to mess with the VDC/ABS systems.

Suspension mods void alignment concerns.

Its mostly common sense. You change somthing in a system and that system is now voided. But a dealer can refuse service, while frowned upon by infiniti it is perfectly legal. Typically people who mod their cars take great pride in them, no problem there. But its puts both of us in a bad situation because an **** customer will always complain and will be nerve racking for them, and us. Its not so much the mods, its the customers attitude.

While it sounds like BS...if your planning lots of mods just go in for your regular maintanance. Being a loyal customer tends to grease the wheels a bit.

And BTW...this is all out the window if the vehicle came from the dealer that way, but the dealer you purchased from will be the only one to honor the warranty.

Now for another noob question. What does the Z-tube, the plenum spacer and the K&N drop in filter do for the car in terms of power increases. (if there's a place i can read about them then let me know...i know its probably a long answer)

Where can i find prices for these products so i can get an idea of what I want to do?

I know most of the people on this forum have these mods so I want to get some opinions on the best to do.

Thanks in advance for the help

Get one of those tree air freshners. They increase horsepower by 20.

TB spacer? As in throttle body spacer? Did you mean to say plenum spacer/intake manifold spacer?

Stock 350z intake tube (throttle body to MAF). No sound baffles.
