Street racing is a bad idea period. There is absolutely no justification whatsoever for street racing, and to rationalize that it is okay because some people do it is just wrong. Besides, I doubt 75% of G35 owners street race, more like 25% or less.

WAAAH WAAAH WAAAH!!!!

So you find it completely acceptable that he was street racing at 90 mph down a small street lined with schools, churches, and homes? How about the fact that the road is littered with pot holes and a hefty amount of traffic at almost all hours of the day? Does any of that matter to you? Apparently it doesn't.

Why should anyone feel sympathy for him or care about his life when he obviously doesn't care about his own life or the lives of those around him?

It's jackasses like this that give car enthusiasts a bad name.

Well put '02.

My guess is those people that are defending this guy have never been touched by the tragedy of losing a loved one from a needless automobile accident, be it street racing or drunk driving. The worst is when the lost one or seriously injured one was an innocent bystander.

This guy deserves 3rd degree burns over his entire face and hands that will scar and mark him for life. And he deserves prison time.

While I agree that this guy is a moron, he is suffering the consequences of his actions. All of us have done something stupid at one time or another.

I don't think his life should be judged based upon one mistake.

We don't actually know if this guy was racing or not. Perhaps he was. Regardless, the racing didn't cause the accident. Speed for conditions was probably a major factor.

Ball is indeed mostly 2 lanes in each direction. I live right off of Ball and Beach and it is 2 lanes each way at least from here up to Long Beach.

I think we are being too judgemental. While I don't condone reckless behavior, we are all certainly not strangers to temptations and have all made bad decisions. And to quote an actual police officer from the San Diego Street Racing Task Force, "they are not bad people...they just made a bad decision."

Yep. And they deserve to enjoy the benefits of their stellar headwork to the fullest, just as this dolt is doing now...

I'm just happy his dumb a$$ is the only one 'fighting for his life..' Maybe it will teach him a lesson. He'd have a lot more to worry about if he took out some innocent bystanders like many of the street racing idiots (and if he wasn't racing, why in the heck would he be going 90 on a two lane?) manage to do.

I hate to see anyone suffer with pain but it makes it a lot easier to observe when the sufferer brings it on themselves. This wasn't an 'accident..' The guy made the choice to drive like an idiot and now he gets to enjoy the benefits of his decision. He'll think twice next time methinks.
