4. Looks a lot better
5. Adds a bit of privacy
6. In Southern California, you'd fry without tinted windows on an all black car.

If you couldn't think of these reasons on your own, you must be in the 3rd grade....
All good/practical reasons.

Although your last comment I could do without.

Bummer eh?

Overall, some good reasons. Like I said, I agree it makes the actual car more showy. Although I didn't figure so many of you actually did tint for the heat (so many Californians, Floridians).

My real agenda in creating the thread was to simply weigh the pros and cons of window tints. I'm not interested at all in showing off, but it's hard to deny that part of the fun of owning a G coupe is getting recognized. The privacy reason is one I particularly like. There are times when you just want to relax and not worry about others being able to see you (especially when eating in the car).

I got tint for many of the same reasons other stated, in order of importance:

1. reduce glare during bright days
2. reduce heat during hot days (and protect black leather interior)
3. privacy
4. looks good

That's why I chose 40% Huper Optik. I didn't want something too dark, but I paid more for ceramic because it doesn't affect radar detection and is better for heat reduction.

Note that once you get tint, it's odd driving a car without it since it seems so much brighter.

So you're from Missouri huh? How hot does it get? It's not just California and Florida. Pretty much all of the southern part of the US gets REALLY hot so if you don't want to feel like you're entering an oven everytime you get in your car, you tint.

I did tint for heat rejection. Part of it was some privacy too. It's not cuz it looks cool in my case. I have 70% tint on the front side windows for legal reason, but it still rejects as much heat as regular limo tint. The back windows are 30% cuz I wanted a little privacy in case I have stuff in the back seat area.
