Tire Pressure Sensors.. (G35 Coupe)

I have an issue with my tire pressure sensors (G35 Coupe). After 4 months of winter driving in Massachusetts I went to change over from my snow tires to my Bridgestone Potenzas and all the valve caps and valve stems oxidized and could not be removed with out snapping the valve stems.... Towne Fair Tire had installed the snowtires ( Blizzaks) and they could not remove the caps with out damaging the sensor stems... I went to Infiniti in Braintree,Mass where I bought the car to look for a solution.... FAT CHANCE!!!
The service manager ( DG ) said " these are not infiniti valve caps", but yet they were on the car when I bought it.
His second intelligent response was " maybe somebody
superglued the valve caps on".... this was the Service Manager whos supposed to be SMART....and helpful???
I was not too Impresssed.
The bright side of this story is that Towne Fair Tire has offered to purchase me 4 brand new sensors.... Q infiniti could not have cared less.....
I gave Q Infiniti a 4 star rating when Infiniti sent out the questionaire.... this is how they treat customers? or let alone build a LOYAL... customer base..... Keep an eye on your valve stems if you drive on the roads with salt....I will be applying a little bit of anti sieze compound
on my new sensors to prevent this in the future... any body else have any problems with their sensors or valve stems..?

yeah and mechanics and technicians are wrench turners...they don't know jack about respectful human interaction....

no offense (and I dont believe my above statement to be true), but do you see how ignorant that sounds?...to generalize like that...

btw, does the 03 coupe have tire pressure monitor sys?

G sounds like your the man....... have you ever heard`of anything like my situation.. valve caps oxidized onto the stems?? I drive it every day, even when we had a foot & a half of snow.... the Blizzaks pulled thru anything.
Not even 4 months .. and I cant switch my tires yet.

is this abnormal? you west coast guys deal with road salt?

im not sure i understand how that could happen. anyway, when i changed the tires on my wheels i noticed the tpms sensor and valvestems were integrated together. if you cut one, it seemed to me the tpms sensor may have been damaged.
the only thing really holding in the tpms sensor was the nut at the base of the stem iirc.
you just unscrew the nut and you can push the sensor into the tire, then dismount the tire.
anyway if they volunteered to buy a new sensor, call an infiniti dealer and tell them what you want to do, and ask them what you need to do. it should be pretty straightforward.

I dropped by my Infiniti dealer this morning to pick a spare valve. I had snapped the tire pressure indicator on my wheel when I went through a car wash. They just gave me one for free even though I offered to buy them. This was Crest Infiniti in Plano, TX. It shouldn't be a big deal to them, after all, you paid US$30+k on a car!

New35 write Infiniti and rip your dealer a new one.

Glad your tire place is so cool about replacing the sensors (I hope they know how much the TPMs are because if not they might not be so willing to buy them when they are shelling out almost $300 per sensor).

Tekinikal.....
My probem is that I cannot remove the valve cap due to oxidization from driving around on saalted roads up here in Snowy Massachusetts. Does anybody no id the sensor is a 2 part piece ? or is it al molded together?
seeems as though the vave stems should be able to be removed from the sensor?? any techs out there?
thanking you in advance.

The whole sensor is one piece. Here is what I found on a qucik google....
http://www.alps.co.jp/img/press/new2003/031030_tpms.gif

Its not a nissan part, but its similar. The square is the sensor and the valve stem protrudes out of it. The only other parts to the sensor is the nut that holds it on, and the valve stem cap. With a small pair of d-y-k-e-s you can probobly cut away the valve stem cap, they arent that thick. And there is no need to salt the roads in southern california so I dont have any input on that part of your question

New35, I know you mentioned that four new sensors are on the way, but have you tried soaking the heck out of your valve stem caps with penetrating oil, i.e. WD-40 or Liquid Wrench? I've gotten out of some sticky rusty wickets with that stuff. Coat 'em, soak 'em, re-coat 'em, soak 'em again and then give 'em the ol' unscrew job after 24 hours or so.

Worth a shot, especially if we're only talking about one winter's worth of oxidiation. (Like I know about your winters -- I live in Texas.)

when I was G shopping almost every one I drove had the sensor lit. 1 at Infiniti of Denver and 2 at Peak Infiniti (also in Denver) and finally the private party one that I bought. dealer didn't know why that was the case. my thought is that its the altitude and the rapid weather changes.

thoughts? I haven't STFA on this so I apologize if its been covered.
