As the others said, warm water will do the trick. Hose it really well for several minutes then take a rubber cooking spatula, window tint bubble remover or something similar and gently scrape everything off. Next time (hopefully you wont need to do it again) do not scrape it when dry. If you do it correctly , it should come out in one piece.

I'd start with warm water as well, and if that doesnt work, WD-40 definately works, I've done this myself, and shouldnt harm the paint.

I would *not* be using a razor blade or a spatula as some people have recommended, thats just going to scratch the hell out of your paint (even if its just surface scratches). Use your finger nail, and a towel. Peel with finger nail, and/or rub it with a soft towel. Just keep at it and be patient . Remember, it might be a pain in the ***, but its better to spend 2 hours getting a sticker off than it is to stare at a scratch that you put there for however long. Good luck, let us know how it goes!

*edit* actually, a rubber spatula like the previous poster said would probably be fine. Just use soft materials

I got the adhesive off where the surface is smooth to the touch, but there is still a mark. It looks as though the smearing got into the paint. What should i do?

Try goo gone, goof-off, or even WD-40 works great on some adhesives

Save your money. Use MAYONAZE and a razor. If you got to use a razor lube It up with MAYO and go in one straight direction only. Then just clean the area when done.
