Why did Infiniti Make the RPM Gauge on the Right 03-04?

The switched around radio controls are really annoying--especially in the manual.
When your passenger is flipping through the XM stations their hand is totally in the way of shifting.
The tach, however, should be the most visible gauge, IMO.

In my 95 maxima, the tach was on the right as well....so I guess that's normal for me.
One hand at 12 o'clock? Sorry...it's one of my pet peves.
It takes a split second to shift...so my left hand stays where it was on the steering wheel, right hand comes off, does the shift, and goes right back.....

For the same reason why mercedes has to change their sedans from 500SEL to 500S to S500. It makes people think they now have the old model and must get the new one. Those psychological bastards!
