It amazed me when i sat in the 04 model and noticed the RPM is on the right. I take it most cars are on the left?

What's wrong with tach being on the right? When you have a manual, one hand on the shifter and one hand @ 12 o'clock on the steering wheel, the gauge that's visible is the gauge on the right and the tach gauge is more important and the speedo anyways.

I wish the '05 RPM gauge was on the right. My hand blocks it when I'm driving.

I think they wanted us to focus more on how FAST we are going.

because nissan got lazy and didn't switch it to USDM.. like the volume, temp control, hazard, and navi joystick weren't switched to the driver side.

Years ago I was into restoring and operating 1956 Triumph TR-3 Roadsters. This very same argument was put forth when discussions of whether the Tach or Speedometer was on the right. The Shop Manual wasn't definitive because all of the photos were of the UK right-hand-drive configuration.

The switched around radio controls are really annoying--especially in the manual.

When your passenger is flipping through the XM stations their hand is totally in the way of shifting.

The tach, however, should be the most visible gauge, IMO.

In my 95 maxima, the tach was on the right as well....so I guess that's normal for me.

One hand at 12 o'clock? Sorry...it's one of my pet peves.
It takes a split second to shift...so my left hand stays where it was on the steering wheel, right hand comes off, does the shift, and goes right back.....

For the same reason why mercedes has to change their sedans from 500SEL to 500S to S500. It makes people think they now have the old model and must get the new one. Those psychological bastards!
