If someone never mentioned his/her age and their posts conducted a somewhat meaningful message, I do not see how you would be hated on. There are many, many young G drivers on here, maybe not in high school anymore, but the point is clear, many of the older members think we're too young for this car. Myself being one, MrElusive and iLLG35 being another 2 right off the top of my head, but do you see anyone hating on us? No one is even talking about parents paying for the car, I don't know why this is perceived as the main reason for the "hate". I'm sure no one on Driver cares about that as long as your posts have something to say

Well that comes from experience I imagine. When I was 18, my parents bought me a then new 2000 C5 Corvette.

Now that I have the G35, and am paying for it on MY DIME, it IS completely different.

But I still value opinions of those who were given the car. Especially since I was in the same boat with the Corvette a few years ago.

The problem occurs when someone who is given the car makes a blatantly stupid or disrespectful remark. A certain group of the PAYING people get offended in two ways: 1. Once by the stupidity 2. Twice by the jeaolosy

Which is why, since I have been on BOTH sides, I can see where both types of people get annoyed. Makes for some entertaining stuff!

 

If your parents are gonna buy you the car, why not upgrade to an M3. Start working more weeks, save up another $4000, and then swing an M3. You'll be a much bigger pimp in school with an M3 than a G35 right???

 

Its not that we dont believe you, no wait, yes its exactly because we don't believe your stupid story that you got bashed on. I mean seriously, as if this board isn't exciting enough. But your the prime example of why young ones get hated on. I mean there is a slight awkwardness about someone already getting a car from thier parents that goes unsaid until that person acts stupid about it. Besides, you admitted that it was a "joke", you deserved all the bashing you got.
