Negotiating, what do you make of this?
Anyway.. it sounds like the dealer knows you really want to buy it from them because its so close to you, and they are giving you crap. They are hinting at going into the whole "order the car and wait" game until you suck it up and buy the premium package. I have friends who have gotten suckered into it and it can last for many months with lots of phone calls and stress. My local dealer for some reason thinks they are special and wanted too much money for my car so I had to go elsewhere. Its not ideal, but trust me its not worth the headache when you are dealing with people who want to play games with you.

Update: I found a salesman that is a fellow alumni. I sent him an email stating what I wanted and what price that I'd pay. I'm meeting him next week on my day off to drop the deposit off and fill out a simple credit application. The deposit is non refundable but I'm cool with that. I guess I need to email this dealer I've been working with and tell them see you suckers
The guy that emailed me back today was so cool he pulled out the VPP pricing and tried to find a company that I used to work for to sneak me in on that pricing, wow! I'm stoked! Car will be on order next week. I guess the sun shines on a dog's *** some days

I wanted IP/Graphite, that was my first choice but we all know what they make this year. For the last few weeks I tossed DG/G and IP/Stone back and forth, back and forth and this is what I settled for.
I drop off the deposit this week, either thurs or fri. Salesman said 3-4 months for the car to get here depending on when they get the order in, possibly sooner but I'm in no rush as I got a good deal and got what I was hunting for this whole time. I sent the original dealer a nice email as well
