Last night i was driving and noticed my car was making a funny *** sound like the belts were slipping or my brakes were squeaking (Loud), when I pulled over I could hardly hear it anymore but as soon as I started moving again it came back. I really don't think it's the brakes because my car has 9,000 miles on it and they are the brembo brakes. Does anyone know what the problem could be ?

My second question is I have test pipes and the JWT pop charger, I was wondering if I should take those off before i take to the car dealership or just say **** it and take it to the dealership with everything on it.

The dealership I take my car to is Miller Infiniti in Van Nuys California
Are they mod friendly

First check whether the sound is rpm dependant or speed dependant. Than you'll know whether it's the engine (rpm), so belts etc. or the whether it's the brakes, wheels etc. (speed dependant)

If you can safely let it roll with engine in idle it may help to localize it. Also if it can safely roll a little with the engine off, but don't let it pick up any speed as the brakes won't work much with the engine not running. Someone outside the car may be able to localize it better than you inside. i have no idea about the mod question.

haha i had the worst screaching problem ever before! It was really LOUD and it only made the sound when moving. I also have brembo brakes. I believe a rock was stuck up somewhere because now it's gone after I drove it hard.

Bashar, when you take it to Miller, make sure you go see Rick. He is pretty mod-friendly and will take care of it. I say take it the way it is...

How many miles?
It could be the wear sensors on the brake pads.
You will only hear them when rolling, and it will stop, or change pitch when you apply the brakes.

i might have an answer for your 1st question about noise...
there's a possibility that your belt might be loose.
just my 2C. i had a same problem before and it was that.

That's what I am thinking, but at 9,000 miles on the car, does it sound right ?

if you drive your car hard and/or track it, i wouldnt rule out the brakes. the brembos do tend to squeak (mine do a little bit), but if the squeak is very loud or resembles a "grinding" sound, then your pads might be done for. does the sound pop up when you hit the brakes?

if your dealer has a mod-friendly mechanic, i would DEFINITELY go to him/her, like someone else mentioned above.

The sound is their when the car is parked, but it's worth around 1500-2000 rpm. I am probably thinking it is the belts

It's the belts, see if anything got on them like oil or any liquids. If not, then tighten them just a 1/2 to 3/4 turn more.

wtf?

Car makes the same noise when moving even when it's turned off, it makes the same noise when it's parked, and when I'm in low rpm's accelerating.

I'm guessing the belts got loose, or something is up with my megan racing cats. The sound sounds like something whiney or loose. Could the cats have gotten loose somehow?
