I even got the receipt, before taxes/fees, it cost me $29,900.

Zero miles. Although it was a sedan, sorry I posted in this forum.

That explains it, but how did you get it with zero miles? They drive it at the ports and on the lot....should have at least 5 or 6 miles.

I think $500 over invoice, but they ordered it from another dealer to get the color I wanted, and they didn't charge me freight or anything...

None that would come close to what I wanted for my trade... The best $$ in Houston would match the price I was being quoted in SA, even better actually, but wanted to gouge me on the trade. Same with the boys in Austin.

The only dealer willing to play was in Dallas and I didn't see the point in going there if I could do the deal in SA.

Shoulda been more specific I suppose. I'm rolling from Corpus BTW.

Got my '05 5AT coupe for about $400 over invoice, (~ $2800 below MSRP) in early Feb 05.

^ i was just going to say! we get screwed here in hawaii. my friend got $500 below for his '05 G35s 5A, prem pkg, and the unofficial negotiations i've had w/ Infiniti of HNL is $1k below MSRP for an '05 G35 6MT IP/stone prem pkg, but i'm reading these postings and i'm like WTF?! we pay 4.166% sales tax in Hawaii and, until last year, it was actually feasible to buy your car from the mainland (say, west coast), pay $1k shipping, and send it back to HI. but since last year, they passed this stupid law where if you buy a new car from the mainland, you have to show proof that you paid the 4% use tax in order to register it in HI (whereas before, you didn't have to show proof of paying the tax so you could skip it and still register your car). if any of you HI residents or expatriates have done this recently, let me know! but if the deal is that crazy, i think it might make sense to buy on the mainland and ship it back to HI.

BTW, any of you from Oregon or ... what was the other states w/ no sales tax? how does that work? if you live in an income tax free state like WA, buy your car in a sales tax-free state like OR, can you really get off like that scot-free?

No, you pay taxes for the state you intend on registering it in. Always been like that here in the states...in other words if I buy it in OR, but live in Cali, I pay Cali sales tax when I register it.
