whenever i'm slowing down with the clutch all the way in to pick up again (like a stop sign or something) and i try to put the shifter into first, it sometimes gives me a lot of feedback. it whines as i increase pressure until i can finally click it into first, and then whines down. sometimes it slides in smoothly, sometimes it does this.......any suggestions or is this normal

 

I experience the same thing, I don't know why, but I am assuming its normal.

 

Most manuals that I've had experience with don't like going into 1st when you are still moving unless it is very slow. You can, however, tap the gas and get the revs up and it will slide in easily.

 

I'd just use 2nd if your car's rolling even a little bit.

 

1st gear problem with me too, its normal.. so i heard

 

some cars go in 1st gear while u're moving pretty fast without even a struggle.
i drove a prelude, and its just like the G, u have to rev match to get it in.
