ahhh.. .black or dG???
Bought Diamond Graphite. Didn't even think about black. I've owned three black cars and told myself after the first one never again. I did it again anyway. And then again. I told my wife that if I ever even veer toward a black car again to shoot me where I stand. She agreed and started loading a pistol.
I micro-manage the cleaning of my car to the point of being ****. DG can be dusty, even a little dirty, and still look awesome. If a gnat farts on a black car you can see it from 20 feet.
With black, when it's really clean, it looks awesome. Wicked. Unfortunately that look ends about 1 block down the street right after you've washed it. I day in the parking lot at work and it's covered with dust, maybe some bird kahkah - who knows. If you spot clean black to remove the kahkah, then you have a big clean spot in the middle of your dusty black car. There is no middle ground. Like a light switch - it's either really clean (still dripping from being washed) or dirty (sometimes still dripping from being washed)...
The most common comment I get from my friends who have black cars (and it used to be one of the most overused phrases in my vocabulary too) comes right after someone tells them their car looks nice. Their response? "it looks great when it's clean" or "you should see it when it's clean" or some variation thereof. The problem is that they rarely are "that clean." You wash, polish, drive, and within a day she needs a bath again. Nothing is nastier than a dirty black car.
Buy Diamond Graphite - you get 99% of the 'cool factor' of black and she'll still hide the day to day dusties well. My car doesn't go a week without a wash regardless, but she could if I weren't fanatical about it.
Good morning all!

Good post GeeWillikers...I agree totally since I own a black car myself and can totally relate. I just waxed and washed my car and then a day later it cumulated a layer of light dust...not too bad to be noticed but dust regardless. The next day, it rained lightly and because of the wax it left bubble marks outlined by dust all over the car and then the sun comes out and bakes it in. Oh well, I can always rinse the car and dry it again since it has a new layer of wax
By the way, good morning to everyone as well!

DG all the way. I pretty much get a compliment every day since I purchased the car three weeks ago. Whatever you do dont be swayed by the girly IP color. You can pull more trim with a more manly color like DG or Black thats a fact.
I have a black... here my opinion...
its million dollar color... but it also takes a million dollars to maintain it...
it gets dirty really fast... so if you can clean the car on your own and love doing it then go for the black... else you are fine with the DG.
