ahhh.. .black or dG???
I have my deposit down on a DG right now....
but everytime i see the black i fall in love with it all over again!! then i convince myself no the black is too hard to maintain.. especially since i live in an apartment there's not really any place for me to thoroughly wash the car and make sure nobody else can touch it to prevent swirl marks.. but then i'll be driving down the highway... and then i'll see another black G and i'll fall in love all over again...
oh god. what to do...

Well, black is super hard to clean, but looks good when it is clean. I almost got black because this car isn't my daily driver anyway, but then I saw the DG in direct sunlight. It looks awesome! Lots of metal flake and subtle changes in color depending on lighting. I love the mechanical elegance of the color. Unlike black, the nose vents and other subtle details stand out better. Also, the headlights and wheels (the 19" 05s) blend in better with the DG. Both great colors, but DG was the one for me. Oh yeah, it stays cleaner looking longer!
I agree.. Black looks really nice when it's clean... but like myself... even though I wash with care... swirls seem to just appear... DG is a nice color also...

If you live in an apartment and don't have a garage I would definitely NOT get a black car. I owned a black Maxima in the past and it was a pain in the a$$ to keep that thing clean. It would look nice for a day or 2, but then you start to notice all the dirt on it. The swirl marks drove me crazy too and after a while I just got tired and didn't have the time to keep up with the 2-3 weekly washings. I promised myself I would never get another black car.
I bet all those nice black G's you see on the road look great from a distance, but I'm sure if you got closer and took a good look at it, you'll notice all the imperfections.

in my opinion, black is THE color for this car. if you intend to look bad *** driving down the street in a car like this, black is the way to go.
however, those guys aren't lying to you when they tell you black is a pain in the *** to keep clean. the swirl marks are bugging the **** out of me and i am really considering spending about 200-250 bucks for all the right equipment and products to remove them. are the swirls that noticeable? no, you wouldn't be able to tell unless you were right next to the car and there was a direct light shining at an appropriate angle on the car, but just KNOWING that they are there irks the **** out of me and i find myself always checking for swirls in poorly lit garages and on sunny days when i'm parked outside.
a DG will not have nearly as many noticeable problems and flaws with the paint. although they will be there, neither you nor others will be able to tell. DG also looks nice and is a close 2nd or 3rd to black in my opinion.

I don't have a garage to park my car in, plus it's my daily driver. I do have and see swirl marks and it doesn't really bother me. If you buy black, you will or should I say it will make you maintain it. No matter what color you buy, you're going to have to wash your car at least 2 weeks to keep your car looking good cause the dust on the rims will make your car look dirty.
So, go with what ever color makes you happy cause you only live once.
