I wondered if there would be some of this over here at the G forum, where people make assumptions about what their $3X,000 car can do.
The sad truth is that there are now a number of < $25K "pocket rockets" that will take the G down with just a few bolt-ons. The Saturn Ion Redline, Dodge SRT-4, Cobalt SS, WRX, etc. are all good examples. If you wanted to be a successful streetracer, the G isn't really the car to buy. To echo Sarcasmo, my WRX with its mods would have destroyed my G from 0-60 and in the quartermile, with a good launch. Once up to speed, it would be an interesting race from a roll.
But I don't care about streetracing. I bought the car for it's wonderful blend of aesthetic beauty, speed, handling, comfort, luxury, reliability...
If I'd wanted to play racerboy, I'd have gotten an STi or a used Cobra.

If you beat them you were SUPPOSED to beat them. If they win, that's even worse, it's embarrassing.
