Problem setting the Lock/Unlock Mode in a 05 coupe

The 03/04 have 6 modes for Load/Unlock on the key fob. I am interested in Mode 4 (lock - flash/no horn & unlock - flash/no horn) However, the dealer is telling me that the 05 coupe only has 4 modes and Mode 4 is NOT the same as it is in the 03/04 models. In fact, it looks like Mode 2 and 4 are the same.

So is there any one out there with a 05 coupe set to flash/no-horn for lock and unlock?

Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, all you have to do is hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the remote at the same time. That's how I have mine set up. The horn doesn't sound anymore when I lock the doors, just the lights flash.

There are only 2 modes available by using the key fob remote. The procedure to do this is in your manual.

However, there are 4-6 (don't remember for sure) other modes that can only be programmed at the dealer. They hook up a little handheld system that taps into the ecu of the car. Not sure if this is the same for the 05 models.

I changed mine to flash once/no horn(unlock) and flash twice/horn(lock).

In the 03/04, only Modes 1 and 2 are available thru the key fob. Modes 3 - 6 MUST be set by the dealer. The 05 only has 4 Modes, Mode 5 and 6 are dead.

The problem is there is no Mode for Lock (flash + no-horn) and Unlock (flash + no-horn) in the 05.

I had the dealer set mine to mode 4 but it's not the same as the 03/04 year.

I think I found the answer to this. The 05 only has 2 modes, Chirp and Non-chirp modes. However, in the Chirp mode, there is a setting Chirp Mode Set (CMS) where you can turn the chirp Off. The dealer will need to set CMS.

I just got back from the dealer and the Lock/Unlock now works correctly. He set it to Chirp mode and then turned off the chirp. Now the flasher lights twice for lock and once for unlock and no chirp at all. Also I found the Auto Lock Set is reversed (Mode1 [1 min] & Mode 3 [5 min]) from the 03/04 model years.
