Car and Driver in the back of the magazine has the G doing the 0-60 in 5.4 seconds pretty tight! The Z is at 5.5 so haha that one tenth makes all of us G owners faster!

The G is 200 pounds heavier and down 7hp. I doubt it's quicker. Could have been difference in drivers, launches, etc.

trust me...your injen intake didn't even take off a 100th of a second on your times...IMO it prolly hurt it.

Don't put too much stock in the accuracy C&D 0-60 times, or any for that matter. It is dependent on SO many things including temp, altitude, driver skill, amt of miles on the car (break-in), etc etc. They're not even good for relative comparisons because these conditions can vary so much day to day. Only thing they're good for is telling what range your car is in, but don't even bother comparing tenths of a second.
The only way you can tell whether you can beat a Z is by racing one (though I have a feeling the Z will win).

Makes for good reading, and bench-racing tho......

C&D usually has the most aggressive driving techniques for 0-60 times. They do (apparently) take great pains to factor out weather, wind, and other extraneous factors.

Yea, C&D test cars to almost to the breaking point. In fact they broke the shift linkage of a Lamborghini Murciélago during an acceleration test and they claim they didn't do it on purpose, ya right!

yea, in lasts months issue, they stated " what the stop watch considers a good start, the dealership service department considers a lucrative one" (STI v.s. EVO) They themselves warned against using their agressive launch techniques, and advise only street starts (5mph-60)
But Hell! they got 4.6sec 0-60 on the STI!!!!!! thats insane!

yep insane...
too bad its uglier than a dead hampster outta you know where
but we wont go to either place !!!
either way ..look at it this way ... the times posted are relative...yes it is dependant on many factors ..but which factor and condition will be the exact same as anyone at any given time is not most likely possible ...
the point is ... IT WAS A TIME .. regardless of factors... and conditions....it doesnt mean you or I cannot do that time ...or maybe faster ...dependant on our "conditions"
It was what it was.
period.
